Happy 13th Birthday, Dreamcast!
You’re a special little system that was way ahead of its time. I hope more and more people learn of your charm every year, Dreamcast.
Did you know I snuck one into Skullgirls? Here’s the model sheet I drew for it completely from memory:

I don’t think there was a way to get the HEAVEN’S PUNISHER legitimately in Ver. 1 or Ver. 2 really. But hacking was pretty rampant in the V.1 times so it was pretty easy to get one if you just asked anyone. It was pretty neat - depending on what .beat time it was, it’d have either massive power or no damage at all. The way it worked was you’d fire it like a handgun and if it was powered up, it’d basically rain lasers down from heaven on to the field in the direction you shot at. It was pretty glorious to behold.
Here’s my mostly-legit RAcaseal I played all throughout high school, between SAT prep classes and failing many classes in favor of late night/all weekend binge playing. It only added up to 183 hours which is strange because I could’ve sworn I played so many more hours than that. I also had 3 other characters though that were pretty high level too though. I also wanted to share my HUcaseal I used in PSO ep 1&2 for Gamecube but I lost my GC Memory Card :/
Also, no one has really noticed but in Skullgirls, Peacock shoots out a CHAIN SAWD as one of her random gunswords. Everyone thinks it’s Ash’s chainsaw from Evil Dead, which is admittedly a cooler reference.
This Chogokin RAcaseal figure is what I always wanted as a kid playing Phantasy Star Online on dial up through Seganet (I signed up for it to get a free Dreamcast keyboard, oh man). The figure has metal joints/center and plastic outer parts so its core is stable but the outer parts are highly poseable. The sculptor of the figure obviously had great respect for the series from the fine details he captures in every accessory included, including a crate to hold her weapons/meseta/red box~
Now that I have the best reference possible, I should probably continue that Phantasy Star Online comic Radrappy and I were making 2 years ago. There’s also this Gamesetwatch comic I did ages ago too.
Phantasy Star Online forever~ (I don’t know about this PSO2 though)
Here’s the final Aegis Army drawing + other whiteboard and napkin drawings. I already posted some on Twitter, so if you’re seeing it again, now you can Tumblr-like it!
You can see other whiteboard pics on the Reverge Labs page: http://revergelabs.com/?s=whiteboard
And Forest 2. Man, I would rather play an HD or portable version of PSO than PSU/PSP/PSO2. I wonder why they never ported Card Revolution to a portable too.

I was surprised to discover I remembered Forest 2 of PSO a lot better. I suppose it’s because the variations of the map didn’t change the topography too much. Though I was confused as to where to place the teleporters that lead to the top area because they either show up in the bottom left, bottom center, bottom right, or top right of the map depending on the variation. My crate positions/numbers are probably wrong too.
Here’s a map of Forest 1 I drew from memory. It’s very wrong. :/

It makes me a bit sad to think I don’t remember so many details considering the hundreds of hours I’ve put into the game over the years. I’m especially stumped at the left part because I know I’m mixing up the area with the Mothant nests with another area because a cutscene with Elenor happens there overlooking the area. And there should probably be an S-curve somewhere with some switches and crates. Siiiiiiiigh.
